Nicholas K. Roy, DMD has been awarded the prestigious Mastership status within the Academy of General Dentistry.
Buxton, ME — Dr. Nicholas Roy of Saco River Dentistry is one of the newest recipients of the Mastership Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). The Buxton cosmetic dentist earned this prestigious honor as a result of his commitment to continuing education and demonstrating overall excellence in dentistry. He says he strives to provide the best comprehensive dental care he can to his patients at Saco River Dentistry, and he is thrilled to join such an elite group of dental professionals.
The Mastership Award is the top honor a dentist can achieve in the AGD, and it signifies the high level of excellence that a select group of dentists have demonstrated. In fact, less than 1% of general dentists in the U.S. have received this Mastership status. Dr. Roy was one of only 61 dental professionals to receive their MAGD in 2019.
Among the requirements for becoming a Master in the AGD, Dr. Roy completed 1,100 hours of continuing education, which involved 400 hours of hands-on learning courses. He has been a Fellow of the AGD (FAGD) since 2015, and feels proud to have exemplified the dedication to lifelong learning that Mastership represents.
Dr. Roy is proud to have become one of the distinguished AGD Masters, noting that it signifies to patients that they are receiving care from an extensively trained and skilled dental professional. He says staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry allows him to provide the safest and most effective oral care possible. As an experienced dentist and MAGD, Dr. Roy looks forward to continuing his mission of providing superior dental care that supports his patients’ health and overall wellbeing.
